Personalized Mandalas*

Mandalas have been used as tools for meditation, healing, centering and spiritual awakening for centuries. The concentric circular form itself is significant, inviting the viewer deeper and deeper into the center. This process is an experiential metaphor for the journey inward, to rediscover and awaken one's spiritual center, the Divine within. The colors and symbols in your mandala emit an energetic, alchemical and healing quality much as a crystal gem may. The Personalized Mandalas shown here have been created with a specific viewer in mind and have been imbued with the vibrational essence of this spiritual seeker, needing to be visible at the time the painting was created. From the feedback of viewers years later, it has become apparent that the paintings continue to be a viable force for healing and awakening for many years after their creation.

Through my own spiritual journey of meditation, art exploration, nearly 40 years of developing my skills and studying spirituality, alternative healing and art; I was gently guided to Mandalas. At a low point in my life in the early 1980's, discouraged and ready to let the art go, a friend introduced me to some Tibetan Tankas brought back from her recent journey to Nepal. My life as an artist began anew as I was compelled to study and create Mandalas, and soon felt guided to offer myself and my skills to create Personal Mandalas, assisting others on their spiritual journey. Having completed close to 50 of these Personalized Mandalas between 1988 and 1991 when my son was born, I took a 13 year break to spend time with him and to explore less consuming art work. In 2004 I began again to enter this sacred space, co-creating these exquisitely illumined, meditative, healing, and spiritually awakening paintings.

Should you be drawn to co-creating and utilizing such a powerful personal tool for your own healing and awakening, the process is simple. Once you have made contact with me through e-mail, I will take the time to call, e-mail and when possible, visit with you in person ( while pleasant, this is not necessary). When I feel I have gotten to know you, have discovered colors and visual symbols significant to you, and I feel familiar with you at a heart level; I will return to my studio. There I allow the creative spark of our connection to move through me, resulting in the emergence of your uniquely beautiful, just as you are, Personalized Mandala.

The Mandalas are airbrushed and hand brushed acrylic created on high quality, archival cotton printmaking paper. Available framed or unframed, all materials are museum quality lasting a lifetime or more when treated with care. "I finally saw the mandala last night...it is simply beautiful! I wanted to share with you something that Jay found.... Rev. Erica hung the mandala in her office over a table of pictures....yesterday, Jay was working in Rev.'s office because her computer was down and as she got up to leave she saw the most amazing thing.... there is a picture of Rev. standing on a platform, in a white gown with her hands out stretched and if you were to overlay that picture onto what you drew in the middle they would almost be a perfect match!
